We are particularly excited to partner with Velociraptors Quidditch Club and host our season-opener in tandem with Queens Cup, the second iteration of their tournament aimed at female players. The tournament is aimed at female players to provide them with the opportunity to play a full tournament in a relaxed yet competitive environment, to encourage participants to play roles and positions they may not have the opportunity to play at their home club.

“At Velociraptors Quidditch Club we are obviously thrilled to be partnered with the Quidditch Premier League for this event,” said Jay Holmes, Events Coordinator for Velociraptors Quidditch Club. “As many of our members are pioneers of the game, it’s fantastic to work with an organisation that shares the same vision we do about getting as many people involved in our sports, at the highest level, as possible.

“Queens Cup was already a turning point in our community and hopefully with all the benefits this partnership brings, we can display the talent of our amazing women to the world. I’m hopeful Queens Cup will be one of the best events of the summer and working with the Quidditch Premier League guarantees we can deliver all that we are hoping to.”

The partnership will mean Quidditch Premier League players will receive a reduced sign-up rate for Queens Cup this year. Additionally, camping accommodation fees will be waived for Quidditch Premier League players.

“This is a fantastic way to start the season off with a celebration,'“ said Jack Lennard, Director of the Quidditch Premier League. “I’ve been hugely impressed at the dedication and enthusiasm everyone at Velociraptors Quidditch Club have brought to the sport, and the success of Queens Cup in 2019 was a huge inspiration. I’m delighted that we can partner with an event that throws such a spotlight on female players in quidditch, and with a team that gives so much back to the sport.'“

The rest of the calendar holds a few exciting milestones as well - the Quidditch Premier League’s first fixture in Germany is sure to be an exciting one, while we’ll see other cities hosting divisional fixtures for the first time across the continent in Paris and Portsmouth.

The location of the 2020 Championship Weekend will be announced in the coming weeks - stay tuned for player sign-ups going live at the end of January!
